Good Morning? No, GREAT Morning!

Hello and welcome to the new KNBC NewsRaw Morning Blog! I get the honor to start this up and have a little fun. I’m John Cadiz Klemack, a.k.a. “The New Guy” here at Channel 4. Mekahlo Medina asked if I’d be interested in this blogging deal and I have to say, I’m very excited to take part. I’ve been impressed with the NewsRaw product and more often than not you’ll also see some “raw” stuff from us out in the field on the program.

This being the first post, I’ll give you a little background. Our morning newscast, “Today in LA,” from what I understand, was the first morning newscast in the country! It’s good to know that the pioneers at KNBC can still keep a great product running so well. With Chris Schauble and Jennifer Bjorklund behind the desk, Elita Loresca keeping an eye on the sky, Paul Johnson swimming through your commute, Justin Jeager (I accidentally called him Jeff once on the air, so sorry about that) up in the sky with the daily “Jeagershot” of brekaing news, and myself and Robert Kovacik in the field, we’ve got you covered pretty well. Granted, it couldn’t be done without the photojournalists at our sides, the technical crew behind the scenes and the producers, writers and assignemnt desk folks keeping our stories fresh. We know you have a choice in the mornings, and it feels so good to know you’ve chosen us. Tell a friend!
